Diet Doc Thai Chicken Soup Mix Review + Giveaway!

If you are a stay-at-home mom like me, you would probably agree that your 24/7 job keeps you on your toes...literally!

On top of the constant laundry, meal preparation, and cleaning up after a husband and two toddlers, nutrition & health are sometimes disregarded in our household. When six o' clock rolls around and dinner has not been started, our local "$5 ready-to-eat" pepperoni pizza place receives our business.

Why can't nutritious and healthy meals be that quick and easy?

They can with Diet Doc!

I was quite happy when I received the following 3 dehydrated soup mixes from Diet Doc:

* Chicken Gumbo Soup
* Hot & Sour Soup
* Thai Chicken Soup

I have also been interested in starting the hCG diet, but have been overwhelmed by the dietary restrictions. Fortunately, all food products by Diet Doc are scientifically formulated to support the hCG diet!

What Is The hCG Diet?

"The hCG diet was initially created over 60 years ago by Dr. A.T.W. Simeons where his patients achieved rapid weight loss when the human-produced hCG hormone was given in a low dose, coupled with a 500 calories per day diet. Diet Doc is the only modern day version of the hCG weight loss diet. The doctors at Diet Doc took the original Dr. Simeons’ hCG diet protocol and updated it to one where dieters consume no less than 800 calories per day in conjunction with prescription level hCG injections or sublingual tablets. Each dieter also consumes hCG diet foods, weight loss shakes and weight loss oil specifically created for an hCG diet." Click HERE for more info.

Of course, you do not have to be on the hCG diet to enjoy the Diet Doc products and you just want to have a tasty low-calorie meal - about 20 per serving!

The first soup that I made was the Thai Chicken, and I only needed to supply the chicken, coconut milk, and the brown rice that I chose to serve it with. This soup is also pretty versatile, so you can add veggies like peas and carrots. The $4.99 mix packet served my small family of four (including two toddlers) plus one extra serving, which is cheaper than that $5 (+ change) pizza and much healthier too. Not to mention, serving this meal was QUICKER than getting into the car, driving to the pizza place, and heading back home.

Preparation is also very quick and easy, and all you need to add are items that are usually readily available in your kitchen!

First, I mixed the seasoning packet in 1 1/4 cups of water and let dissolve for 10 minutes per instructions. During the wait, I cubed 1/2 lb of chicken breasts and cooked them in coconut oil until meat was no longer pink.

Then, I added the re-hydrated seasoning mix and 3/4 cup of water, brought it to a boil, turned down to a simmer, and cooked for 10 minutes. When the soup has thickened slightly, I added 1/4 cup of coconut milk and turned off the heat. I mixed this soup with cooked brown rice, but Diet Doc does offer wheat & gluten free noodles. Voila! The meal is done!

The Taste

Of course, I am quite skeptical of anything labeled "diet" actually tasting good, but I was quite surprised! I loved the Thai Chicken Soup, my husband was not as thrilled, but he is usually not blown away by soup. My kids (ages 2 and 4) would have loved it if I had prepared it with some sort of noodles in place of the rice (they are not big fans of he rice), but ate the chicken and drank the broth. I also added peas in their soup, which they loved.
