#26Acts - How You Can Help The People of The Appalachia! #MonkeyDo #20Acts #26ActsOfKindness

How many of you have been inspired to join in on the 26 Acts of Kindness?

I have made a point to do at least 1 random act of kindness to a complete stranger each day in the wake of the Newtown incident.

Haven't Committed Your Random Act Of Kindness Yet?

Today, I wanted to share this post from the Monkey Do Project, whose mission is to improve the lives of those living in the impoverished Appalachia area - and there are a variety of ways that you can help!

1)Cash Donation - $26.00 in honor of #26Acts is a wonderful suggestion, but you can donate whatever amount you want! 100% of all donations are used to help feed, clothe, and improve the lives of families living in the Appalachia! Donate HERE
.

26 people donating $26 can provide the following for EMPTY food banks in Appalachia:

682 pounds of apples, or

5,408 slices of cheese, or

157 pound of beef, or

271 pounds of potatoes, or MORE!

2) Send any of the following items to the Monkey Do Project, P.O. Box 78335, Indianapolis, IN 46278 :

* Toothbrushes
* Toothpaste
* Trial size shampoo and conditioner
* Bandaids
* Individually-wrapped bar soap
* Wash cloths
* Small Brush
* Roll-on (solid) deodorant
* Socks (adult and children’s sizes)

* Knit stocking caps (men, women, boys and girls)
* Knit gloves (the one-size, fits all, stretchy ones from your local discount store works well)
* Feminine hygiene products (tampons, pads-individually wrapped)
* Diapers - Cloth provides a sanitary & re-useable option!
* Incontinence products
* Gallon-size Ziploc bags - or wet bags?
* Pens, pencils, crayons
* Small notebooks (sized to fit into a gallon-sized Ziploc bag)
* Small toys for boys and girls (that will fit into a gallon-sized Ziploc bag)
* Suckers or hard candies
* Individually-wrapped chewy granola bars
* Small flashlight with batteries

3) Purchase Any Item From The Monkey Do Store
- 100% of the profits from all purchases will support Appalachian families.

4) Participate in any of the ongoing Monkey Do projects :

* Feed My Sheep
* Ella's Project
* Submit A Recipe
* Project Floyd County Blessing Bags
...and so MUCH MORE! Click HERE for the full list!

5) In a financial bind yourself? Here is a FREE option...SHARE THIS POST!
- This act is just as important as any of the suggestions above! The more that hear about it, the more likely MORE people will help!

Also, I hope that you continue to pray for the families that have been effected by this horrific event...as a mother, I could not even begin to imagine something like this happening to my precious little boys...

Please consider doing at least one act of kindness today or everyday, and to make sure that we do not run out of ideas to show compassion to one another, please share some other ways to help out others below!
