Actually, my birthday was yesterday. Sadly, I am now one year from becoming the big 3-0 (anyone who is 30 or older, please do not take offense), but I have spent the day putting together a very special present for the DFW Cloth Diaper Project - By ordering 30 pre-folds and filling a box with 30 diaper covers!
As some of my followers know, I hosted a month long fundraiser which ended yesterday (yes, my husband was a little upset that I spend so much time verifying the Rafflecopter entries) and I cannot begin to describe the joy that I am feeling right now. A lot of blood (ok, that may be a bit over exaggerated...I probably only suffered a mere paper cut or two), sweat, and tears (and an insane amount of prayer and pleading) went into this project that started from a small idea way back in January.
I am not at all complaining! I am so blessed to have so many people take a step of faith and give to this cause, especially those who I knew that could not really afford to donate but did. Thank you to all of those who reached out and know that you are not only changing the lives of people who are in financial crisis, but you have also helped me as well. You do not know how awesome, worthy, and confident you made me feel by sending your supportive e-mails.
In the beginning, I cannot tell you how much I wanted to give up. I am new to the blogging world and had 1 follower (who wasn't me) for the first couple of weeks and had no idea on how to spread the news of my giveaway or any clue on how to get anyone to donate to this cause without sounding super needy or pushy. I was thankful for every single penny that fell into that Paypal account.
And look! here is the box that will be shipped off to Texas tomorrow!
I honestly cannot look at this picture with dry eyes, thank you to all who helped make this Monday so marvelous instead of manic :-)
